The Jack Ryan series of books, films and series’ by Tom Clancy have a long history, and reboots are a big part of that too! John Krasinsky has been part of the Amazon series just titled Jack Ryan until 2023 and in 2026 we received a film with Krasinsky in titled Jack Ryan:Ghost War
The basic premise is that Jack Ryan has gone back to civilian life but the CIA needs him. He joins forces with a British agent Emma Marlow played by Sienna Miller, to fight a common enemy who knows their every move.
Now we enjoyed the Jack Ryan series with Krasinsky, but the movie feels like trying to cash in yet again. Sienna Miller looks good, smokes too much (been a while since I’ve seen this much smoking on the big screen) and is a sidekick, however this movie seems to be just going through the motions at best. Every cliché is hit and executed, and it pretty much telegraphs the next moves in advance. So did we hate it, well no – we watched it but it was just an alright movie. Harsh but true, this review basically is about an alright movie that we watched but didn’t love. I’ve watched far worse but I’ve also watched far better….
