In news I already knew was going to happen this morning, the UK Government is to go ahead and ban social media use for under 16s and add curfews for the under 18s. Strangely messaging apps are NOT included so we all know that kids will just get their nudes and porn on messaging apps instead….

Now there are a multitude of issues here, many of which are that policing this will be expensive, and ultimately I can’t see it making much of a difference. Australia has shown that a ban really doesn’t work in reality, and as we have a police force that seems incapable of catching “real” criminals how does our government really think this will make ANY difference whatsoever. I do have to add that Two Tier Keir, despite hating that nickname, has announced a Two Tier Social Media ban… you really couldn’t make it up, could you?
