Once again Meta is touting subscriptions with extra services available for those that pay. However it also appears that Meta will enshittify its services as well because it only says that “core” services will remain free. So what does this actually mean? Well I can tell you what this means is that Facebook/Threads and Instagram will become two-tier services or possibly even more tiers. If you are unwilling to pay you won’t get seen and it will be just a shell of what it currently is, and they will reduce the services you can use… I have been saying this will happen and well, it looks like it is finally going ahead!
